Auto Injuries
If you are in a car accident or you are sustain an injury involving a vehicle, all care is covered through your individual auto insurance. Injuries that are covered under auto insurance include but are not limited to: injured getting in or out of car, moving something in or out of car, injured while repairing or maintaining your car, injured while driving, injured as a pedestrian, and injured as a passenger.
No Fault Guidelines for Auto Insurance are as follows:
Before care can begin you must report a claim to your insurance company and you must fill out an application for benefits. We require a copy of both of these in your chart.
You have $20,000 of coverage (per car) available. If your plan is stacked (more than one car covered) then your insurance will double (two cars), triple (three cars), etc. (If this $20,000 had been adjusted for inflation since its enactment around 1980 it would be worth $60,000 in coverage.) On average, during 12 weeks of care about $8,000-$15,000 of this money could be spent depending on severity and extent of your injuries.
It is best that you begin care immediately after the accident to reduce formation and development of scar tissue and adhesions.
It is never a matter of “if” but “when” your insurance company will send you out for an Independent Medical Exam (IME). The longer you wait to start care, the quicker the IME can occur, usually around 6-12 weeks of treatment. The goal is to discourage you from care (the hassle factor).
At our clinic, we specialize in soft tissue work (tendon, muscle, ligament, disc repair and recovery) and can stabilize patients on average in the follow time span:
Grade I MVA injuries: 6-8 weeks (no residual damage)
Grade II MVA injuries: 12-20 weeks (possibly some residual damage)
Grade III MVA injuries: 12-30 weeks (mild to moderate permanent damage)
Grade IV and V MVA injuries: 9-14 months (extensive permanent damage)
If you need a personal injury attorney, we have a list available of attorneys that we have worked with before that we trust to do fast, efficient, and reputable work on your behalf. If you have no car insurance, we can help you determine whose insurance company is responsible so you can still receive care.
Any additional care that is needed once the claim is resolved can be obtained at our clinic through options that we offer. Your options for maintenance/on-going care are as follows:
1. Health Insurance.
2. Pay in cash using our same day price guidelines.
3. CRASH Package; package of 10 chiropractic visits that will include an adjustment and up to 4 therapies per visit for a total of $900. The CRASH package does not cover X-rays or exams, which are priced at our same day pricing.
4. Chiropractic Maintenance Plans (CMP). CMP Plans can be purchased in either 50- visit or 100-visit packages; the costs are $175 or $250, respectively, and are good for one year.
Workers' Compensation
Workers’ Compensation covers any injuries that are sustained while on the job, leaving the job, or going to the job. In addition to this, workers’ compensation also covers any injuries that occur because of repetitive motion on the job.
The care limits to workers’ compensation coverage state-wide are as follows:
You have 12 continuous weeks to complete your therapy.
You are able to pick your own doctor, not the employer. Your employer can ask you to see their “company” doctor once.
As a clinic, we are able to schedule specialty diagnostic tests (ie: MRI) and visits with a physician to prescribe medications for co-treatment, we do not provide medication.
Any additional care that is needed once the claim is resolved can be obtained at our clinic through options that we offer. Your options for maintenance/on-going care are as follows:
1. Auto insurance (if due to a Motor Vehicle Accident).
2. Health Insurance.
3. Pay in cash using our same day price guidelines.
4. CRASH Package
5. Chiropractic Maintenance Plans (CMP)
It is important to note that 50-70% of workers’ compensation claims may be denied by insurance, it will then be necessary to hire a workers’ compensation attorney. We can provide a list of W/C attorneys in the metro area that we have used in the past.
Insurance
All regular health insurance plans are a managed health care plan, this means that they all have limits to the amount of coverage they are willing to provide. Some of the limits are not made public to you the subscriber but are placed on the doctor. These limits are usually described by amount of visits or dollar amount. The average of all plans' limits is six visits per year and between $250 to $500. The managed care plans force these limits on the clinics with a threat of kicking a doctor out of the network if they do not maintain these levels. Again, these levels are not disclosed and are separate from what your benefit levels may show. We work both in and out of network while participating with these plans. Sometimes you have better coverage going out of netowrk, but we leave that choice up to you.
Most insurance plans are accepted at our office. We accept auto accident, workers compensation, personal injury and most health insurance plans, including Medicare. Since there are so many plans and coverage varies widely, please call us to find out if your plan covers care in our office. Our staff will verify and explain your benefits before treatment, at no charge.
IN-NETWORK
Your policy through your insurance company has a defined benefit; however, this is also a managed care plan under which we, the in-network provider, must follow the managed care guidelines set by your insurance company There is a set case limit, certain therapies covered, and a dollar amount that we must abide by to remain in-network. Regardless of what your policy states as your available coverage, these are the guidelines we must follow as a clinic.
Below, you will find detailed information about the care that is available to you at our clinic given the insurance you have. Any additional care can be received at our clinic with the following options:
1. Pay in cash using our same day price guidelines.
2. CRASH Package
3. Chiropractic Maintenance Plans (CMP)
